Melai Cantiveros on MEGA Magazine Cover

When I first saw the photo, I thought it was just a usual Mega Magazine cover until a friend pointed out by asking who we think is the cover. Without glanceing at the label, a closer look reveals Melai Cantiveros.


I was surprised but not shocked, Melai has the right shape of face for a beautiful Filipina. We are just so used to Melai Cantiveros' funny antics in Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) and comedic face gestures in showbiz and TV shows as the Filipino culture tend to stereotype comediennes to be unglamorous. And of course, the make-up did its job.

It is indeed a revealing new year cover for Mega Mag's January 2011 issue. Melai Cantiveros proved once again that a nobody can be somebody, and the unglamorous be glamorous; be it on a MEGA Magazine cover or otherwise.
